Performers Announced
The first performers have now been announced for the 2019 International Opera Awards sponsored by Mazars, taking place at Sadler’s Wells on Monday 29th April.
We’re delighted to reveal that this year’s line-up will include soprano Joyce El-Khoury, joining us between performances in Welsh National Opera’s Roberto Devereux; tenor Charles Castronovo, a finalist for Male Singer of the Year; and mezzo Vivica Genaux, star of Pinchgut Opera’s Artaserse which is in the running for Rediscovered Work of the Year.
In line with our passion for championing young artists, soloists will once again be joined by the Orpheus Sinfonia and Principal Guest Conductor Oliver Gooch. And in a first for the Awards, our own chorus of bursary recipients will be bolstered by members of the London Philharmonic Choir.
The ceremony will be directed by Ella Marchment and hosted by BBC Radio 3’s Petroc Trelawny along with guest presenters from the opera world and beyond. Other performers will be announced in the coming weeks.
Tickets for the ceremony start at just £10* and can be booked online via Sadler’s Wells or by calling +44 (0)20 7863 8000 .
*Transaction fee applies: £3 for telephone bookings and £1.95 for online bookings. No charge in person at Ticket Office
